Story
Kutch is a desert territory dotted with tribal villages, in the westernmost part of Gujarat, in India. The Fakhirani Jat tribe is a semi-nomadic ethnic population of Muslim religion, where women devote themselves to the family and embroide the colorful and traditional clothes, while men practice pastoralism and business with neighboring markets. I was lucky enough to enter one of their schools, where I attended a reading lesson from the Koran. These two sisters shared the seat and studied together with affection and complicity to recite the different readings assigned to them.
