LONGHORN MIAO

Story

Nestled in the deep mountains of the Chinese province of Guizhou there is the village of the Long Horn Miao tribe, a mysterious and distinctive branch of the Miao ethnic group. To honor their deceased ancestors they wear a crescent-shaped wooden comb that supports a thick tangle of ancestors’ hair and yarn. Looking at them from afar they are truly a unique spectacle. Long Horn tribes are called “The people with their history on their head”.
