Story

One of the Karo tribes, the smaller ethnic groups in the Omo Valley, have settled in the Korgio village. Karo men cultivate the fields and are engaged in fishing and even hunt crocodiles. Karos are considered masters in body painting and use white chalk to create vibrant patterns and beautiful designs on their skin.
During the night in Korgio we were awakened by rifle shots. Frightened and worried, we went to look for the reason for those shots: they were mourning shots, which sadly warned the village that a long-sick child of the tribe had just died.
